IIT JAM – Joint Admission Test for MSc Biotechnology
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM)
is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters),
Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree Programmes at the IITs, and
Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a
career option for bright students. These postgraduate programmes at IITs and
IISc offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable
to the best in the world. The curricula for these programmes are designed to
provide opportunities to the students to develop academic talent leading to
challenging and rewarding professional life.
2. AIIMS- All India Institute for Medical Sciences MSc
Biotechnology
AIIMS offers a number of Postgraduate courses in clinical medicine
specialities, nursing and super specialties. Admissions to these Postgraduate
courses in the AIIMS are based on the entrance examinations conducted all over
the country. The MSc.Biotechnology course was started in 1986. It is a two-year course which aims to produce a
cadre of scientists required for highly specialized areas. The training
emphasis in this course is on medical aspects related to diagnosis and therapy
using modern biotechnological tools of recombinant DNA technology and
immunology.

JNU CEEB Combined Biotechnology Examination
Jawaharlal Nehru
University conducts a Combined Entrance Examination for admission to 2-Year
M.Sc. Programme in Biotechnology on behalf of more than 30 participating
Universities. The test is conducted in several centers across India and also at
Kathmandu. At present, It offers a total of 600 seats for aspiring MSc
Biotechnology students that are segregated into different schools.
4. TIFR- Tata Institute of
Fundamental Research Graduate School Admissions Exam
Tata
Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai conducts a TIFR GS entrance exam each
year for Graduate School Admissions, Mumbai. The TIFR national level entrance
exam for biology, TIFR GS, is also known as Joint Graduate Entrance Examination
for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). You can also appear
for the exam if you are interested in integrated MSc-PhD program. Qualifying in
JGEEBILS is one of the eligibility criteria for admission into various
institutions across India.
5. CUCET Entrance Examination
The
Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2020 is conducted jointly by
14 central universities for admissions in undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD
courses offered by all participating universities. The CUCET is conducted once
a year across 120 cities in India. B.Sc Life sciences students are eligible to
apply.
